This past weekend, 107.1 KSLT had the incredible opportunity to share the joy of the season at not one but two Parade of Lights events! On Friday night, we lit up Hill City’s charming streets, and on Saturday, we brought festive cheer to the bustling parade route in downtown Rapid City.
Our float, themed “Broadcasting Joy to the World,” was a true labor of love. Featuring a radiant globe surrounded by giant headphones, colorful flags of the world, glowing lights, holiday bells, and shiny accents, the float beautifully represented the message of hope and joy that Christ brings to all nations. Towering above it all was a vintage-style radio tower, reminding everyone of the power of uplifting Christmas music to brighten hearts this season.
The energy in both communities was nothing short of magical! Families lined the streets, their faces lit with smiles as they took in the beauty of the floats, the sounds of carols, and the twinkling lights. It was an honor for KSLT to be part of this cherished holiday tradition, celebrating the season with our neighbors.
This float was made possible by the hard work and creativity of our dedicated volunteers, who spent three weeks bringing the vision to life. Thank you to everyone who cheered us on along the parade route—it was a joy to celebrate Christmas together with you!
From all of us at 107.1 KSLT, Merry Christmas, and may your season be filled with the joy and hope of Christ!
