01/03/11 Fear: The Roaring Lion True fact: In the African jungle, when a tribe of Lions go hunting, the older, bigger ones are no longer as active or fast but have the loudest roars. The lions position themselves, to where the bigger older lions will place themselves in front of a gazelle, scares it to make the gazelle turn around and run the other way only to be captured and surrender to the younger faster lions who make the kill. Moral of the story: If the gazelle kept running towards the loud roar of the older lion, its chances would be much better of it getting away alive. Run towards the roar, which is used to scare. 1 Peter 5:8 Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour. Its time to tell satan where he can stick that fear. Fear immobilizes us from pursuing our hopes, and our dreams leaving us paralyzed, and wishing we did. This year is another step forward in faith that will further my relationship with God by experiencing Him through the eyes of a child in poverty stricken circumstances, and by understanding my abundance, learning to give of myself to the least of these. That is the least I can do, but I want to do it with all of me…. for His Glory. When all is said and done, I want to look back at 2011 and thank God for helping me get over myself and realizing it’s not about me. I think my theme song this year is by Chris Tomlin: I Will Follow:) |
